What's the Fat on Breakfast?

For some reason I have to start my day with a high fat breakfast. If I don't then I can't make it to lunch and I just don't feel right. I could eat a plate of veggies for dinner and be fine, but for some reason I need that fat in the mornings like some folks need coffee. So I found this article very interesting:

Bacon or Bagels? Higher Fat at Breakfast May Be Healthier Than You Think

  1. excellent article. the study itself was well done, as well, by Dr Bray et al.

i definitely tend to eat more carbs than protein/fat in the morning (7am), and usually am ready to snack by 10am, eat a small lunch and chow down at supper. oops :) i should try getting back to eggs in the morning instead of toast and apples...

  3. For breakfast, the first thing that comes to mind is "trimmings" (LOL). I make bento boxes for my sons lunch in the mornings. I use cutters to cut his cheese and meats into shapes and nibble on the trimmings. I have a smoothie a few mornings a week made with whole milk yogurt and fruit. Also bacon or sausage and almond flour waffles (I don't know that they are high fat though). On the weekend I fix eggs with breakfast or have them when we go out to eat.

  5. If your up for a salmon or hamburger steak smothered in salsa first thing in the morning that's probably the best time to eat it. Some folks want more traditional style breakfast food. Here's s few links to breakfast recipes:
